Resources For You!

Starting – or growing – your practice isn’t an undertaking that you should do solo. There are valuable resources to help you, and we want to point you to a few today.

First, the Healthy Bytes Resources page contains our blog posts that cover everything from business basics to telehealth best practices to growing your presence on Instagram. Don’t want to miss a post? Be sure to enter your email on the Healthy Bytes blog page to sign up for our newsletter and we’ll keep you informed of nutrition billing know-how and additional tips to keep your practice humming!

But there’s more! Our resources tab also houses two guides that we’ve authored that we highly recommend. We’re biased, yes, but clients tell us how helpful these resources have been for them!

  1. Nutrition Reimbursement: The Healthy Bytes Way: Download our comprehensive guide to nutrition reimbursement! Nutrition billing is complicated and rapidly changing. Many dietitians have been able to start and grow their practices by taking insurance. It's hard to find one definitive guide that has all the basics explained from becoming an in-network provider to getting reimbursed for telehealth – so we wrote one. Inspired by the questions we get daily from dietitians and certified nutrition specialists across the country, address contracting, credentialing, billing, reimbursement, getting paid and more. We hope you find it helpful, too.
  2. Nutrition Reimbursement State Guide: Is Medicaid coverage available in New York? Does Medicaid cover obesity in California? What is the Medicare reimbursement rate for Texas? We created this state-by-state guide to answer these questions. Go ahead, open this atlas to learn about important nutrition reimbursement must-knows for your state.

You may also find the following Today’s Dietitian article, Guide to Insurance and Reimbursement, something to read and refer back to – often! The article walks you through the benefits (and sometimes the challenges) of accepting insurance. It also covers various types of insurance: public vs. private. Then, dig in for an in-depth walkthrough of how to become an in-network provider, how to file claims, tips for resolving denied claims, and more.

Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – we share gobs of resources and information on social media, too! Lastly, the Healthy Bytes team is here to take your questions. You can email us at or give us a call at 1-844-4RD-BILL. We look forward to speaking with you!
