Hello! I’ve always allowed my interests and passions lead me through life and I’m thrilled to have landed here at Healthy Bytes! When I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelors of Science in communications and a minor in education, I wasn’t really sure where I wanted to end up. I knew I wanted to make an impact on people's lives. I moved to New York City and began a career in sales at a textile company in Midtown. During this time, my love for nutrition and wellness developed as I pursued hobbies outside of work. Through my training for endurance events and becoming certified as a personal trainer, my passion for nutrition and wellness blossomed.

Prior to joining Healthy Bytes, I worked with private clients as well as at boutique fitness studios developing personalized nutrition programs for members to complement their exercise regimens. I loved being a part of each person's journey; I appreciate how vastly different each of our “roads” are.   But while training clients, I was often asked questions about nutrition that I could not answer. The more I couldn’t answer the more I wished I had the knowledge. I decided to take the leap and become a dietitian! I began taking nutrition classes on a part-time basis, but eventually decided that my goal of becoming a registered dietitian needed full-time attention. I completed my DPD coursework at Lehman College in the Bronx and completed my clinical rotations at Mount Sinai Hospital on the Upper East Side.

I returned to practicing at the fitness center and privately once becoming an RDN. But I wanted to be part of solving the issue around lack of knowledge of what a dietitian is and does, and the need for more access to our services. Finding a dietitian can be compared to searching for a psychologist in the sense that you need to find the right person for you. In the past, I've had to turn down people who I've made that connection with – people in need of my services – but because I didn't take insurance, they could not afford to pay out-of-pocket.

The mission of Healthy Bytes is what makes every day exciting. From day one I felt welcomed by my team of smart, driven, individuals all working together to improve major problems in the healthcare system. What I find the most challenging is the lack of knowledge around dietary counseling from the insurance companies. As a country, we have seen an increase in the availability of preventive services but there is so much room for improvement. I aim to make an impact by bringing my knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, as well as my experience in customer service to the table. Every day we are working to improve the experience for our dietitians and CNSs.

As a dietitian, I practice what I preach and eat mostly clean meals, but I also know how to splurge! I’ve never met a French fry I didn’t like and have a soft spot for homemade cookies. I love breaking a sweat from a training session, group classes at the gym or a run through Central Park with the (unofficial) Healthy Bytes Running Club! I look forward to getting to know you!
